The BBC have just been here filming an interview with me that will go out tomorrow on BBC local news & Points West in the evening. They are doing a pre event push to tell other patients locally that the event is coming up & then will hopefully will also do additional coverage & live interviews from the conference venue on Friday.
5 minutes after the film crew left a lady from BBC Radio Bristol called & asked me to go down to Bristol first thing tomorrow morning to do a live radio interview – they are putting the conference as lead story on BBC Bristol Radio news tomorrow!
It’s beyond exciting that this event is generating so much interest and media attention. It is a national event so hopefully it will get picked up on a national level by the press as well.
The TV interview went well….we talked about the conference as you expect but we also had to talk about what got me into this project….my back story! (pun intended!)
The thing is….in some sort of bizarre coincidence (which Laura Jones from the BBC knew because she had read & remembered from my blog!)…today is actually my 3 year Cancerversary!
At the very moment when I was sitting in the kitchen re-telling my Melanoma experiences on camera, it was 3 years to the minute that I was given the news that rocked my life forever.
To say it was emotional talking was an understatement.
We all take our health & in particular good health for granted…but today more than ever before, I am grateful to be in good health…I remain to my knowledge NED and today celebrate for so many reasons reaching 3 years!
